This Dr. Suess book was created to prove a few key ideas to humanity. One such idea is that we are all different, and we need to embrace our differences instead of using them as an excuse to remain separate. If we segregate ourselves it will cost us in the end as shown by the monkey. If we try to make one side better then the other, the other side will become angry as it has happened in human history at every genocide or unequal rights chapter of our history. Another idea that is taught by this picture book is that one person cannot be trusted with an entire population. The monkey was trusted by all the Sneetches and he exploited their differences for money, which is the root of all evil.
